After 9 years at Blue Manta International, lorry driver, and face of Blue Manta for many customers, Sandy Robertson has decided to retire and get on with the next phase of his life.
Having originally trained as a chef, Sandy spent several years working in hotels throughout Scotland before moving to London to take up a position as a chef at St George’s Hospital at Hyde Park Corner for 7 years where he met his wife Connie. Sandy then returned to the North East where he had a 4 year spell as a chef on the rigs before he ended up behind the wheel of his first truck.
He spent 30 years working for Mathers of Inverurie delivering Scotch meat to London, before he ended up at Blue Manta.
Sandy won’t be putting his feet up for long though, as he plans to fit in a trip to see Man United, before heading off to see in the New Year in Australia with his daughter. 2018 will also see him complete a Route 66 trip (backwards) and also taking in New York and Las Vegas.
All at Blue Manta wish him well in his retirement.
