Blue Manta Green Team

During 2017 Blue Manta became interested in a scheme run by Resource Efficient Scotland and funded by The European Union and Scottish Government, to improve energy efficiency in the workplace. As part of this scheme Blue Manta set up their own small Green Team and free audit of the companies energy use was arranged with REF. The report highlighted that improvements could be made to the way our buildings were being heated and lighted up, and also that the site was well positioned to maximise the use of solar energy. During 2018 Blue manta moved from Oil based heating in their Workshops and Offices, to gas, and a replacement scheduled put in place to replace and upgrade workshop, and fabrication shop lighting to more efficient LED. Early in 2019 Blue Manta made a £70K investment in Solar Panels across our 2 Kirkton Place sites, to capture and use daylight as an energy source to reduce electricity cost.
